Daily Bred: Jan. 10, 2015 - A Wripple In Time

I wonder what is standing in the way of widespread equality and the demolition of discrimination. I watched the movie Selma today and I have no shame in admitting that it brought tears to my eyes several times. Later today I went to a Japanese internment camp where we kept ten-thousand of our own citizens hostage in their own country simply out of fear. Sure, people can rationalize these crimes against humanity but how can we blot it out? Bobby Kennedy's idea of every person being able to change a small portion of events and that changing the world further inspires me. I'm fascinated by the Butterfly Effect, and I truly do believe that a smile can change the course of someone's entire life. It's like when Jimi Hendrix talked about the power of love overcoming the love of power. It's easy to say this, but do you embody it? If one single person takes meaning from and values me sharing my thoughts through Daily Bred, it is worth it. I don't expect to be felt or even heard on a large scale, and certainly not anytime soon. It may never come down to it, but if it does I am prepared to die for my beliefs. Make me a martyr, like Immortal Technique's mixtape. How comfortable are you with strangers? It is my absolute favorite phenomenon of life and a rarity I seek: to have deeply meaningful relationships with people I have just met, and most likely never will again. Three people stick out to me in my life and I treasure their energetic impact. I contemplated life with each of these three unrelated former strangers. While our time together was merely a few hours, they changed my life more than I could imagine. When it came time to part, with no phone number, no new Facebook friend or Twitter follower, we simply locked eyes, and I said thank you. Thank you for being in my life. Thank you for reaching out, being open. You are everything I love about people and the reason I hope. You can't ever be too sincerely grateful. Whether it's to look at the sky and thank what you cannot comprehend for this miraculous moment, or to really thank someone in any way.
