Light another one I don’t mind what’s a little smokescreen between friends It’s Wednesday night or Tuesday morning I’m so glad you’re here just watching this woman dissolve anytime anything brings her little red heart to a boil See, they’d trust her with a baby they wouldn’t trust her with a dog they say a mad-busy schedule wouldn’t allow for regular walks so she draws an escape route and dreams about never getting caught But tonight with her confidence gone drawing the smoke spilling out of your lips don’t worry Tomorrow she will be back to falling in love with character actors who will distract her with local accents and who’s to say it’s easier that way than drowning in all your nicotine smoke She can’t understand how some people can hold balance while standing still and each time she moves closer, she feels safe, she knows that she’s got that escape route tattooed underneath all these clothes she tells you she loves drawing the smoke spilling out of your lips don’t ask her about it tomorrow she will be back to falling in love with character actors who will distract her with locals accents and who’s to say it’s safer that way than drowning in all your nicotine she’s back to falling in love and that’s not to say she likes it that way when she feels really broken she’ll turn into a joke and say: I’m breathing I’m still breathing, I’m only breathing I don’t really smoke
