The Vent

I craft a focused art through broken hearts and shattered dreams Came from a hopeless start but then I slept and had a dream When I awoke and rose, I saw the open doors A poet knows some things are best expressed in spoken flows I saw a vision of my future, just a grieving man A puzzled person with a bunch of missin pieces, damn So lets conceive a plan to watch what we achieve expand Why sit and do nothing when my brothers we can stand Rest in peace to fallen fighters, just a youngin gone Time ran out, I swear to god theres somethin wrong Through this pen I speak of pain in an open letter Never knew yall but I wish I got to know you better This shit is just so sick to me It makes me realise that life is just a gift to me And though I'm quick to get my message out explicitly Its all because of these emotions risin up conflictin me I ask you listen please, just let me get my point across Times are hard, trust me nobody enjoys a loss Had my fair share of dreams but I've destroyed a lot But if you think its too late, listen now, boy its not We can turn around, U-Turn Stay in that fire best believe thats where you burn I know it stressful, you don't always get what you earn Despite the stressin, lifes a lesson, I hope you learn Shit, I hope I do Wish I could take yours, and you could take my shoes New perspective won't deceive us like our eyes do All these built up barriers, I'm hopin we can fight through Hope we can move on Everythings a lie, tell me where the truths gone Television tellin you everything that you want Most of yall brainwashed, don't even turn the tube on I hate the world See the future in the eyes of a little girl Society is pimpin em, wish they would wake up By 13, short skirts and face covered with make up How unsuitable Its an ugly world that was once so beautiful Gun to my head, guess im in the mood to pull Scared I'll be another livin life in a cubicle That can't be me Sorrounded by a crowd, yet nobody can see me Guess I gotta fear everybody here will leave me Greedy, I just need somebody to need me I'm a lost man Mirror reflects an image of somebody I can not stand Well God Damn At least I'll never sell out for a hot jam I no longer see the world just in black and white As a youngin actin wrong, now I'm older actin right Caught that felony, why they act like thats the life Its crazy how your world can change in only just half a night Thoughts of suicide Should I carry on cause right now its do or die Im screamin snap outta this David you alive Not a scratch on me, but I'm black and blue inside Can you feel me?
