Tekst piosenki
They told me give time to the roses
But I don’t have a sense of smell
So every time I try to do so
It doesn't end so well
Don’t get me wrong, I do take walks
And admire all that grows
And on occasion I’ll bite futility
And kneel with frail hope
Nervously I’ll pluck the first
Sad plant to catch my eye
But when I lift it to my face
All I can do is stand and sigh
There is no scent, no redolence
Not a tickle to make me crinkle
But please, my roses, believe me
In my dreams you’re all I cling to
If the desire pervading my heart yielded capability, my roses…
I’d stroll through all the fields
Seeing every pretty bud
And fondly pick them up
With one long, fulfilling snuff
I’d kiss their florets with my nose
And fill my nostrils with sweet pollen
I’d cradle them by their tender stems
And make every blossom feel wanted
And I know flowers don’t always smile
But their petals would stretch miles
As I hoisted them closer to the sun
My roses… I cannot smell
But I appreciate your beauty stronger than
The nervous system of anyone
And so don’t fret, my roses
For you all are dressed so well
I’d set my time off for you all
If I but had a sense of... *sniiffff*
